Painting of lady portrait is important to tradition Chinese ink art. It is not only to reflect the lifestyles in different periods, but also to represent the artist's pursuit of aesthetics and the interpretation of female beauty. Whether they are the ancient artists Zhang Xuan, Zhou Fang and Gu Kaizhi or the modern artists Chang Dai-ch'ien and Lin Fengmian, they are the masters of painting of lady portrait in the field of tradition Chinese ink art and have made significant contribution that will inspire generations. Kong Lap Fung used to paint oriental ladies wearing cheongsams and apparels in the old Chinese styles. With his talented skills of ink painting, women in his paintings are elegant. Since his lines are clean but dainty, with classically elegant colors, altogether they convey a modern vigor in his works. He can fully capture the attractive sides of women and express them in a romantic way. Wan Fung Art Gallery and China Sanpin Art Gallery cordially invite you to the opening reception and enjoy the charming paintings of lady portrait together. Admission is free to all parties.
